The Sidewinders Pride Block Party on June 12-13, 2026, brought together a vibrant mix of people celebrating identity, acceptance, and community. Among the other vendor and organization spaces was the Community Leather & Kink Tent, a welcoming space that stated "Kinky Questions Answered Here!" While trying to represent diversity and strength of the broader leather and kink community, the space featured SpectrumABQ & Purgatory Dungeon, NM-REAL, Inc, and Onyx High Desert.

A Space Built by Community Effort
Our effort was more than just a physical structure; it was a symbol of collaboration and mutual support. Thanks to Sidewinders for generously providing the space. Spectrum and Purgatory took the lead in bringing and setting up the tent, ensuring it was ready to welcome visitors from the start.
Volunteers played a crucial role in running the tent smoothly. Members from SPECTRUMABQ, Purgatory, Onyx High Desert, and @NM-REAL shared the responsibility of staffing the tent, answering questions, and creating a safe environment for all attendees. Special thanks go to volunteers The Skinner, Persephone, Finnly, Bear Marvin, Bear Mike, and the SpectrumABQ crew for their dedication and enthusiasm.
Engaging the Crowd with Education and Support
The tent offered more than just a place to gather. It provided resources, information, and a chance to learn about leather and kink events in a respectful and open way. Visitors could explore literature, ask questions, and connect with community groups that promote safe practices and inclusivity.
The crowd on Friday was lively and engaged, setting a positive tone for the weekend. Saturday saw an even larger turnout, with many people eager to learn and celebrate. The presence of other vendors and community groups, such as Duke City PaH, added to the richness of the event, creating opportunities for cross-community dialogue and support.

Looking Back & Ahead: Building on Success
This is the second year we've had this tent. We hope success of the Leather & Kink Tent at this year’s Sidewinders Pride Block Party brings more participation and fun for the whole community. Collaboration between groups and the enthusiastic volunteer base show that there is a real desire for spaces that celebrate and educate about leather and kink culture.
For those interested in getting involved, volunteering is a great way to contribute. Whether helping set up, staffing the tent, or sharing knowledge, every effort helps build a stronger, more informed community. Check out our events!
