NM-REAL SLaP! is a monthly Kink Social, Learning, and sex-positive Play event for those that crave excitement, education, and exploration in our community. SLaP! events will be held most months on the third Friday.

We will have two classes this SLaP!

(1) Wax Play – The Travis Way by Travis & Amy Wilson

Come join us for a fun afternoon of pleasure and a bit of pain and maybe some artistry along the way! Wax play is a form of temperature play/sensation play that involves the controlled application of melted wax onto a person's skin. It combines elements of both pleasure and pain, creating a fun, sometimes intense sensory experience based on the contrast between the heat of the wax and the cooling on the skin.

We will provide an introduction to wax play, discussing a variety of techniques and approaches that can be used to expand your experiences.

• Sensation and Power Exchange: The Top applying the wax controls the sensation, height, and flow of the wax, while the Bottom surrenders control, fostering trust and vulnerability. But while allowing for such wonderful fun feelings of Control, Power, and Vulnerability, we will touch on issues of consent, information, and safe words.

• Aesthetics: Like piercing and rope, Wax Play is enhanced for many by its artistic possibilities. The drips and splatters of the wax can be seen as a form of body art, especially when using different colors.

• Anticipation and Surprise: Wax Play lends itself to my favorite of all BDSM "games," Mindfucks. The use of blindfolds or bondage can heighten the anticipation of when and where the wax will land, intensifying the experience.

• Speaking of Mindfucks, wax play just lends itself to this fun. Cutting the wax from the body can be easy and done with a dull kitchen knife, OR with the meanest, cruelest, biggest, knife in your toy bag. Pull out the violet wand while you are at it and add that to the sensory fun.

About Travis & Amy

Travis Wilson has over 35 years’ experience in the Leather/BDSM lifestyle. He was a co-founder and chairman of Houston’s People Exchanging Power (PEP), co-founder and chairman of Houston S&M Ball, an internally respected fetish event. Travis presents at many Leather/BDSM events across the country in states including Nebraska, Wisconsin, New Mexico, Oklahoma, Alabama, Washington D.C., South Dakota, Montana, and Texas. He now focuses upon providing joint workshops with his Significant Other, the lovely Amy, or WolfMoon73. Amy has been a part of the BDSM community since 2005, with time spent in areas such as Chicago, Wisconsin, St. Louis, and Minnesota. She has quickly grown to love the Southwest and has assimilated here. Her main BDSM interests are as a BootBlack and an S&M heavy play bottom. Amy helps Travis with all their classes and also teaches Piercing, bloodlust and Bootblack classes.

Each month NM-REAL SLaP! will have social time and space for social interaction, one to three classes, followed by a sex-positive play party. Hang out and socialize, be a voyeur, be an exhibitionist. One area will have low to moderate level volume house music – so you can hear each other. Other areas will have quiet space to relax and talk. Check out each event to see which educational activities will be held. Our play time has both a larger pansexual play party spaces (beds, cabana’s, pan videos, and dungeon area) and a male-identifying only space – a room with beds and male videos. Other focused spaces can be created if there is sufficient demand – let us know.

All our events strive for safe space for all through attendee required behavior that is respectful, ethical, and inclusive. Our space is for 21+ year olds, no alcohol or illegal drugs. Outdoor space is available for vaping and smoking.

We hope you come to the whole event to socialize; however, you can also just attend the education or play sessions. Cost:

SLaP! events are $25, no membership is required. Discounted entry of $20 for members of NM-REAL or Purgatory Dungeon/Spectrum Parties. Tickets available in advance or at the door!

How to Attend

You may obtain tickets from NM-REAL or Purgatory Dungeon in advance, or pay at the door. You do not need membership at Purgatory Dungeon or membership in NM-REAL. However, if you have membership, you can obtain a small discount.
